The following is an outline of seminars we hosted in March this year. It is our hope that there will be adequate demand to host these seminars again in 2011!
INTERNATIONAL SPEAKER – DOUGLAS DOMAN
Australian Tour 2010
Through my research, I have learnt that a child with challenges can aspire to a better life,
and that a child without such
challenges has the potential to achieve remarkable results – using particular techniques.
Some of the key techniques I have used with enormous success for our son, come from The Institutes For The Achievement of Human Potential® in Philadelphia, USA.
ABOUT THE INSTITUTES
The Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential® has been teaching parents how
to teach their young children
for almost half a century. Through the Institutes’ books, seminars and courses, parents teach their ‘well’ babies and toddlers to read, do maths and to function at their fullest potential.
Founded by Glenn Doman, The Institutes (www.iahp.org) help children of all abilities, including those with ’special needs’. Many of these children achieve improvements which were thought to be impossible, thanks to the guidance of The Institutes.

Pictured here is Glenn Doman with
just some of the many thousands of children he has helped.
Glenn’s career continues, and he is now in his 90th year.

MR DOUGLAS DOMAN
This March, as part of my mission to empower parents, I will be hosting seminars by a speaker from The Institutes, Mr Douglas Doman. Douglas is the Vice-President for The Institutes in the USA, and is also the President of The Institutes For The Achievement Of Human Potential® in Europe. Douglas is the author of “How To Teach Your Baby To Swim” and “How To Teach Your Baby To Be Physically Superb”, and travels the world delivering seminars to parents.
On top of all of this, Douglas is also Glenn Doman’s son.
Douglas’ trip to Australia this March will be his first in over 30 years. I am bringing him here to Melbourne because, knowing how powerful these techniques are, I can’t wait to share them with my fellow Australians.
Another company is similarly hosting these seminars in Sydney – see below for details.
SEMINARS
There will be two seminars – one for parents of children with brain-related
‘special needs’, and another for parents who
just want to help maximise their children’s potential for learning.
Each seminar runs for 3 hours and is a single session only – ie. no need to attend more than one session on the same topic. However, many people are opting to attend both seminar topics.
Seminars will be held over 4 days as follows:
MELBOURNE
Caulfield/Glen Eira Town Hall
Friday March 26th -
2pm-5pm – HOW TO MULTIPLY YOUR BABY’S INTELLIGENCE
7pm-10pm – WHAT TO DO ABOUT YOUR ‘SPECIAL NEEDS’ CHILD
Saturday March 27th -
10am-1pm – HOW TO MULTIPLY YOUR BABY’S INTELLIGENCE
3pm-6pm – WHAT TO DO ABOUT YOUR ‘SPECIAL NEEDS’ CHILD
SYDNEY (hosted by GDBaby www.gdbaby.com.au)
Courtyard by Marriott, North Ryde
Sunday March 28th -
2pm-5pm – HOW TO MULTIPLY YOUR BABY’S INTELLIGENCE
7pm-10pm – WHAT TO DO ABOUT YOUR ‘SPECIAL NEEDS’ CHILD
Monday March 29th -
10am-1pm – HOW TO MULTIPLY YOUR BABY’S INTELLIGENCE
3pm-6pm – WHAT TO DO ABOUT YOUR ‘SPECIAL NEEDS’ CHILD
Parents with a child with special needs will benefit from both seminars. For the purpose of clarity, I will describe children without special needs as ‘well’ children.
‘SPECIAL NEEDS’ / ‘BRAIN INJURY’
The term ‘Special Needs’ relates to many conditions including, but not limited to, neurological – or brain-related challenges. This includes such conditions as ADHD, Aspergers Syndrome, Autism, Developmental Delay, Cerebral Palsy & Down Syndrome.
The Institutes regard all of these – and more – as ‘brain injuries’. When I first heard this term I found it very uncomfortable – it seemed so graphic… But my curiosity grew when I started to read success stories from families whose children had experienced dramatic improvements through The Institutes’ programs. I have now added some other family’s success stories to this website.
The Institutes treat Down Syndrome as a brain injury. Down Syndrome is caused by an extra chromosome, so why a brain injury? Again, after reading some of Glenn Doman’s books, I could see the benefit of these programs for my son. In the end, I was more concerned with helping my child than with the terminology used to describe his situation.
I use the expression ‘brain-related special needs’ because ‘special needs’ on its own is being used to describe a huge array of conditions in our country, even dietary restrictions like vegetarianism – or so it seems as I read my daughters’ school notices!
SUCCESS STORIES
Every year, The Institutes publish ‘victories’ achieved by their families. These victories are extraordinary, and to me were extremely inspiring. You can read some of these success stories if you click here.

I investigated methods for building intelligence because my son was born with Down Syndrome. Victories we have achieved with him have been amazing also. At the age of 2, he could read. At 3, he is learning maths, and his movement is beautiful.
But this is not done to create some ‘super child’… it is done to help him to learn to his fullest potential which in turn will help him to continue to learn at his best.
Good habits start young…
These techniques are designed to be done at home with all children, of all abilities – from birth. I write in detail about our experiences with The Institutes, among other natural therapies, in my ebook ‘Naturally Better’

SEMINARS FOR PARENTS OF WELL CHILDREN
HOW TO MULTIPLY YOUR BABY’S INTELLIGENCE SEMINAR – 2010
Did you know that even a tiny baby can learn to read? Or do maths? Or that any parent has the potential to help multiply their baby’s intelligence?
The truth is that babies and young children have the potential to absorb information incredibly quickly; the trick is to keep up with their amazing appetite for learning!
For many years, The Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential® have been teaching parents how to teach their children to do maths, to read and to be physically superb. The methods developed by The Institutes® give children the best possible start in life!
Just a few days ago I spoke to a man who did the Glenn Doman reading program with his ‘well’ kids when they were little with incredible success. I have asked this man to speak at the saturday morning seminar here in Melbourne. This is what he had to say:
“I would be delighted to share how teaching my 3 kids to read (after reading Glenn Doman’s book) has had a great impact on their lives. As I mentioned to you – academic scholarships to the private school of our choice (all 3), 2 school captains, 2 university scholarships, a citizenship scholarship etc. In financial terms it’s hundreds of thousands of dollars, but you really can’t put a price on it.”
- Jamie Kennedy – Williamstown
Amongst resources provided by The Institutes, there is also a kit for teaching a baby or a young child to read in Chinese.
The materials discussed at this seminar are relevant for ‘well’ children up to 6 years old.
“Teaching their little ones reading and maths gives parents an opportunity to develop their child’s abilities when they have their greatest potential to learn, but are too young to attend school. The potential for education is exciting!” – GN Teacher

SEMINARS FOR PARENTS OF
CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
WHAT TO DO ABOUT YOUR ‘SPECIAL NEEDS’ CHILD SEMINAR – 2010
Many Australian parents are coping with children who experience behavioural or developmental challenges, some of whom are classed as having ‘special needs’. In many cases, parents don’t know what to do to help their children.
Over the past 50 years, The Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential® in Philadelphia has been achieving extraordinary ‘victories’ training parents on how to help their own children. By applying what they have learnt, thousands of these parents have proven beyond any doubt that children with conditions like Autism, Developmental Delay, and Cerebral Palsy are not ‘hopeless’, because such children have incredible potential and can be helped.
The Institutes exists to ensure that all brain-injured children have a fighting chance to be well, by giving parents tools they can use at home to unblock their child’s potential.
For the first time in 30 years, The Institutes® are coming to Australia to present seminars about what can be done to help these kids.
This seminar will inspire and provide hope to many parents of ’special needs’ children – of any age.
