‘Sadly, the world has tended to look at brain growth and development as if it were predestined and unchangeable. The truth is that brain growth and development is a dynamic and ever-changing process.’ ~ ‘How Smart is Your Baby’ Glenn Doman & Janet Doman
The Institutes For The Achievement Of Human Potential is an organisation based in Philadelphia, USA. The Institutes , founded by Glenn Doman in 1955, provide training for parents to run home based therapy programs for their own children.
During the research and development of The Institutes programs, the list of people Glenn Doman collaborated with is extraordinary; some of those include double Nobel prize winning chemist Linus Pauling, Dr Edward B Le Winn, a paediatric neurosurgeon at Albert Einstein Medical Center, Adele Davis – Nutritionist and even NASA who had to research the brain because of the effects on astronauts of travel into space.
Through his ground breaking research, Glenn Doman has enriched and even saved so many lives. The results achieved by children on these therapy programs are amazing and in many cases seem miraculous.
Seeing: Of the 262 children who were blind 85% saw for the first time
Hearing: Of the 116 children who were deaf 91% heard for the first time.
Detoxing: Of the 526 children who were on anticonvulsant medication 70% were completely successfully detoxified while 25 are still in the process of complete detoxification.
Reading: Of the 1,229 children who were unable to read, 99% read for the first time.
Walking : Of the 428 children who were unable to walk 50% began to walk without help for the first time.
Furthermore, children who take part in such programs from an early age are often able to integrate into mainstream education and adulthood, thereby requiring minimal additional support in their adult life.
You can read more about The Institutes success stories on our Foundation page.
This website came about because our son, Gryffin, is a product of many wonderful and natural approaches, a major part in his success being this remarkable program from IAHP.
Whilst The Institutes have Centres around the world, there is currently no Centre here in Australia. BUT that doesn’t mean you can’t get started on learning about their programs, and starting a program at home immediately for your child. This is how we got started – I bought some books, within days I put a program together and I started doing it. The improvements came overnight in some cases, and we soon realised we wanted to do the parent training which is run in various countries around the world (Singapore being the closest for Australians).
So, to help you get started, I have created a Recommended Reading page – you can quite literally use these to put a program together and start it straight away.
